Podcast: MSPs warned to beware the “vampire vendor”

At the recent UCC Summit by Wildix, Robert Cooper, Managing Director of Wildix, asked a room full of MSPs if they were aware of the dangers of the “vampire vendor”.  Expanding on theme Cooper has discussed in podcasts on TR before, Cooper made a point of telling the assembled summit of MSPs that a changing cloud environment demands that they not simply change what they sell for prem to cloud. Cooper thinks the MSP has to become the trusted technology advisor, offering creative ideas and solutions, and not simply products. In this podcast Cooper is joined by Wildix CTO Dimitri Osler as they offer an overview of today’s transforming UC space and present a strategy for MSPs to thrive. Along the way, Cooper and Osler warn MSPs of the dangers of getting too close to vendors who are living in the past, offer incomplete solutions, pitch legacy approaches or the “vampires” who’s close relationship to an MSP can find the MSP drained of its life supporting force of customers and revenue.
