Podcast: Service providers are the new corporate firewall as Billions of IoT endpoints become entry points for malicious activity

Service providers are racing to support 5G.  In the process, the door will be opening for hyper-expansion of IoT support and IoT devices. If you think protecting the corporate jewels is tough now – just wait. Mike O’Malley, VP of Strategy at Radware provides an in depth look at the effects of 5G and IoT on security to Don Witt of The Channel Daily News, a TR publication. Creating 5G secure network slices that protect the IoT devices, monitor the traffic and make sure they are behaving normally is one option. If bad behavior is identified, quarantine or eradication of the malicious activity can then be performed. The detection will need to be performed at the network level and not the device level. Mike O'Malley Three things that service providers need to do: Build 5G Infrastructure with security in mind from the start Build a secure ecosystem Automation of security systems Radware plans to continue its leadership role in automation to help service providers automate security tasks and help them move into intent based learning technology.
