Windstream, born as a spinoff of the Verizon purchase of Alltel, has grown rapidly, through acquisition of CLECs and most recently acquiring EarthLink. They are now over a 6 billion dollar major communications player.

Joe Harding, CMO of Windstream, continues with his Windstream overview to Don Witt of The Channel Daily News, a TR publication, indicating that they are the 5th or 6th largest fiber network in the country. Quality and customer experience is the primary driver for the current company structure formed around discrete business units of: Enterprise Market Consumer and SMB market Wholesale Carrier market In the enterprise market is actually focused on the Mid-market enterprise and larger enterprise.
